Big blow for auditing watchdog: Court rules some of its fees are unlawful The auditing industry regulator has been stripped of the power to charge several new fees it created to fund its operations. Over 1 600 chartered accountants from the East Rand in Johannesburg have succeeded in persuading the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria to set aside some fees charged by the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA).
